LIKES:
- Cute things this can be any thing, puppies, kittens, children, cuddly toys… Finland likes them all.
- Suanas Finland would use one every day if he could. He can endure incredibly high temperatures.
- Salmiakki it’s a rare day when he leaves his house without a packet in his pocket. He doesn’t understand how anyone could dislike the stuff, and is always offering it to his friends with a smile.
- Christmas This is a special time of the year for Finland, and he goes out of his way to make sure that it’s special for everyone else too.
- Cute things seriously, he likes them a lot.
DISLIKES:
- Arguments Memories of old have given him a dislike of war and arguments, and he will only fight when he feels there is no other option for him.
- Bullies people who delight in torturing the weak disgust him, and he’s been subject to that more than a few times.
- Mirrors he hates seeing his reflection, and goes out of his way to avoid mirrors.
- Being alone when he’s alone he tends to think too much, and he goes out of his way to stay with other people as often as possible.
- Himself
PERSONALITY:
Finland is a sweet guy, usually described as ‘cute’ by those he meets, and always there to help you when you’re in trouble. He believes in the best in everyone and will attempt to befriend everyone. He treats everyone with the same love and respect, no matter who or what they are, with no change for gender, sexuality, race, or religion. He will talk to anyone and does his best to make everyone feel happy. One of the few ways you can get Finland to truly dislike you is to be disloyal to your friends. Finland would honestly do anything for his friends, and will often spend a lot of money on them, or on gifts for them. However, should anyone hurt his friends and they’ll meet a hidden side to him, because he is incredibly protective of those he loves and will not stand to have them hurt. He’s also a hard worker, and if hard work could solve all problems then Finland would have none. Once he starts a project, Finland will work and work until he is satisfied with it.
Unfortunately, in private, he also suffers from low self esteem. It’s something that he prefers to keep hidden from others, but as a new independent power, Finland has a low opinion of himself and his abilities. While he’s constantly boosting other people’s ego, he can rarely find anything he likes about himself, and when left to himself he can get pretty down about it. He used to be a little naïve, and while he’s mostly grown out of that, Finland still does his best to believe in the good of all man. He trusts people perhaps a little too much, and becomes easily disenheartened if people don’t live up to his expectations. And yet he fails to learn his lesson, and continues to believe in the best of everyone.
As a Nation, Finland still does his best to look out for everyone. Although he’s been around for a long time, he’s still trying to find his feet, and desperately trying to escape from Russia’s clutches – to the extent that he ran fleeing into Germany’s. But he is doing his best to keep himself to himself, and refusing to allow his armies to merge with those of the other Axis, as well as refusing to hand over any of his citizens, regardless of who or what they are. He is more than aware that this war is not going to end well, but for now his first priorities are his citizens and himself, followed closely by his friends.
